BACKROADHOMEExtending the great tradition of creating a disturbance on the Welsh Marches, BackRoadHome are a timely amalgam of musical potential in progress, making medicine for the soul in these here troubled times. Spawned on the banks of the Severn, on a bedrock of free fall string bass from Tommy Mills, with pulse perfect drum strokes from George Jackson, Brian Copsey’s sparse, direct, guitar driven songs, waste no time in connecting with the head, the heart, and the feet. Brian explains: Over the years my songs have been like a life raft to me. Playing solo, I drift with the tide and end up in some pretty interesting backwaters, but now with Tommy and George on board it’s like the life raft turns into a sleek canoe with these two fabulous players, one at either end, paddles glinting in the water, intuitively seeking out the most natural setting for my songs. There have been nights when I’ve really run the rapids with these two, It’s a great adventure, and fantastically rewarding especially when the audience stays with you every twist and turn. Distilling the essence of what we’re about, we recorded our first album "déjavoodoo" and have met a really positive response. It’s been heartening to find people who appreciate where we..re coming from, and after all, isn’t that what life’s all about ? To dig and be dug!
